How does Breakerbox calculate budget certainty?
Breakerbox calculates budget certainty according to a proprietary algorithm designed to reflect the relative price risk posed by an individual contract. We begin by assigning a weight to each of 20+ variables specified in a contract. These weights are intended to reflect the relative influence that variable has on a potential change in the price that the user pays during the term of the contract. Then, based on the value of each variable, a score is assigned and multiplied by the weight assigned to that variable. The sum of these products represents the "volatility" or "certainty" of the price the user is expected to pay during the term of the contract. These calculations are estimations only and not statements of fact.
